Important Travel Tips
- The best navigation app to use in Costa Rica is WAZE. If you are going to be driving to multiple destinations in CR, we recommend making sure you will have internet on your phone (by adding the international phone plan) to be able to use Waze during your road trips / finding Airbnb locations. Google Maps works too, but Waze is more useful because it will update the best route you should take in real time (in case there`s a landslide, an accident creating traffic or something else crazy lol).
- PRINT or SCREENSHOT these directions and any maps you might need so that you are prepared (if you are not going to have internet on the road).
- There are no street names / addresses in CR (except for in San Jose) so that`s why it is important to get around CR is by using Waze or by following hand written directions like the ones provided below.
- CHECK IN is anytime AFTER 3:00pm. Sorry, but we CANNOT accommodate early check ins or luggage storage (we have guests checking in and out everyday so we need time clean and we do not have a secure place to store your luggage). We do NOT make any exceptions, so PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL of this rule and do not try to check in early. Please confirm your estimated arrival time the day before your arrival 🙂

Directions to Marley’s House
No matter where you are driving from in Costa Rica, you will need to pass through Quepos to get to our location in Manuel Antonio. Once you reach downtown Quepos, follow the signs toward Manuel Antonio. There is only one main road to get there, so you cannot get lost. It is a winding road that goes up a mountain. Once you reach the top, you will see Hotel Villa Lirio on your left, followed almost immediately by the Manuel Antonio soccer field. Please note: If you start driving downhill and see a large supermarket called Super Joseth on your left, you have gone too far! Take the entrance on your left immediately after the Manuel Antonio soccer field. The entrance runs parallel to the soccer field. Follow the road for approximately 100 meters.On your left-hand side, you will see a parking area enclosed by green metal mesh. The green metal mesh pedestrian gate is the entrance to our property.
If you are taking the bus:
Get off at the bus stop next to the Manuel Antonio soccer field. You can walk from there; it is only a couple of minutes away. Take the entrance right next to the Manuel Antonio soccer field and follow the directions above.
If you are taking a taxi:
This is the Spanish address that all local taxi drivers will understand:
"La entrada siguiente a la plaza Manuel Antonio, 100 metros para adentro, propiedad esquinera, contigua a la plaza con área de parqueo de malla verde, lado izquierdo."
This will bring you to the green metal mesh parking area gate at the main entrance of the gated community.
DO NOT GIVE THE KEYPAD CODE TO THE TAXI DRIVER.
Follow the self-check-in instructions to open the gate and walk to the house.
If you are taking a public shuttle:
The closest hotel where they can drop you off or pick you up is Hotel Villa Lirio.
You can walk from there; it is only a couple of minutes away.
Take the entrance right next to the Manuel Antonio soccer field and follow the directions above.
Self Check In:
elf-check-in instructions can be found in the "Guest Resources" section of Airbnb.
We will also send you a link to these instructions within two weeks before your arrival as a friendly reminder.
These instructions include the keypad code, pictures showing where to park, and pictures showing where the house is located.
The instructions are very easy to follow and explain everything you need to know to check yourself in, so please read them carefully!
If you will not have internet access while traveling here, please be sure to print or screenshot all the instructions and pictures so that your self-check-in goes as smoothly as possible.
Check-in is anytime after 3:00 PM. Please remember that we do not accept early check-ins. See #4 in the Important Travel Tips above.
